Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want to Reread

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a new prompt is provided and book bloggers, like me, share their top ten lists.

This week's prompt-
Freebie: Top Ten Books I Want to Reread

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

This was the first book I read by Colleen Hoover and I wasn't even close to being fully prepared for her writing. This story was so powerful and unlike anything I have ever read before. I definitely need to read it all over again.

The Shining by Stephen King

If you have ever read anything by King, I'm sure you are aware that each of his novels has this unique feeling that you get while you are going through the pages. The Shining gave me this crazy feeling when I read it and it is something I would love to again experience.

The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

The true story of the author's life is too much and too intense to read once and then forget about. It was almost like I couldn't completely comprehend what she went through the first time and I need a reread to fully understand it all.

All We Had by Annie Weatherwax

I may or may not have just read and reviewed this one (I did) but the voice was something I haven't been able to quite recover from yet. It was a super fast read and at times I couldn't appreciate the unique characters, so I know a reread will let me experience the amazingness all over again.

The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright

This book was so intelligent, so detailed, and so informative that I couldn't possibly understand it all in one read. While it wasn't necessarily the most uplifting of subject matter, it made me so knowledgeable about the history and current situations of Al-Qaeda. A fascinating read.

The Paris Wife by Paula McLain

The Paris Wife was some of the best historical fiction I have read in a while. I loved the topic as Ernest Hemingway was not someone I knew much about, and I loved the fantasy of what his wife and her life could have been like.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Truly a heartbreaking and emotional read, it was a grand love story that had such a unique plot filled with parts I never saw coming. I would like to check this one out again now that I have finished it as I feel like I would be able to have better insight about each character.

The Underground Girls of Kabul by Jenny Nordberg

I have said this before and I will say it again- The Underground Girls of Kabul was one of the best books I read last year. As it was written by an author I was unfamiliar with and was nonfiction, I was not ready for a book that would receive such an honor on my bookshelf. I can't wait to read this all over again.

Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis

This is a book that I read many years ago but I remember it being filled with so many interesting and intriguing facts not only about Anthony but also about his band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I was not a big fan of them when I read it but I still found it relevant and amazing to see what they went through and still managed to stay together.

Looking for Alaska by John Green

Looking for Alaska is a Young Adult novel that has elements of mystery and suspense in it. When first reading, you are immediately curious about the somewhat countdown that is happening and have no idea what will occur. After finishing the book, you are aware about the actual content. I feel like this would be a good one to try again as I am now all the wiser and familiar with John Green and his emotional books.

Have you read any of these? What book would you reread if you had the time?
